BOSS Snowplow was the result of the entrepreneurial spirit of founder Warren Brule. In 1959, Brule partnered J.W. Reiten and the two became the new owners of Iron Mountain, MI’s MJ Electric after the retirement of previous owner Marshall J. Pottered. Throughout the 1960s and 70s, MJ Electric ventured into the power plant business and saw successful growth in the fields of pulp and paper, mining, and utility markets. 1985 saw MJ Electric the first fiber optic fusion splicing and installation attempt, the construction of Point Beach Nuclear Plant for Wisconsin Electric, and the introduction of BOSS Snowplow. Today, over 30 years later, BOSS Snowplow (now, a division of The TORO Company) continues to be operated by the Brule family with manufacturing still residing in Iron Mountain, MI.
