PTO Clutches for Sakundiak Grain Augers

Sakundiak Equipment was founded in 1947 and was a leading manufacturer of swing-away and conventional grain augers. Today, the Sakundiak name is a Meridian Manufacturing brand. Meridian Manufacturing was founded in 1965 as a small, modest farming community in Manitoba province of Canada. Originally known as Friessen, their first product was SmoothWall steel hopper bin, an alternative to the galvanized corrugated type which used to be the industry standard. The SmoothWall soon became the preferred choice and business was booming. This allowed for Friessen to expand operations all throughout Alberta, forming new subsidiaries as they entered each new territory. In 1989, the company entered the U.S. market in Storm Lake, Iowa. By 2002, WGI Westman Group, Inc. had purchased Meridian’s Canadian production facilities and completed the sale with the acquisition of the Storm Lake, Iowa plant in 2004. Three years later, all of the operations were consolidated into a new name as the Meridian Manufacturing Group. All former subsidiaries and marques were incorporated into the Meridian Manufacturing Group under the single Meridian brand name. In 2013, Meridian merged with WGI sister companies, Behlen and Sakundiak, and the name was changed to Meridian Manufacturing, Inc.
