Starter Solenoids for Deutz-Allis Tractors & Agricultural Machines

The story of Deutz-Allis begins over 150 years ago in Germany. Nikolaus Otto, the inventor of the four-stroke internal combustion engine, founded N.A. Otto & Cie. The company produced stationary engines for industrial use, but later began building farm machines and agricultural equipment under the Deutz brand name. Meanwhile in America, a company called Allis-Chalmers was a major player in the Second Industrial Revolution, producing engines and machines for commercial business and engineering use. In the 1950’s Allis-Chalmers began creating farm and agricultural equipment. In 1985, Allis-Chalmers sold its farm and agricultural division to Germany’s Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz (KHD), the parent company of Deutz-Fahr originally known as Deutz. This became Deutz-Allis until 1990, when Deutz-Allis was dissolved and the remnants of Deutz-Allis became AGCO.
