Eagle Alternator

Taking cue from GM’s then-new Saturn division to market low-cost economy cars, Chrysler formed a new brand called Eagle in 1988 following the purchase of AMC. The first Eagle cars, the Premier and Medallion, were originally produced by AMC during the ill-fated “Alliance” era with French automaker, Renault. The succeeding Eagle entries were badge-engineered versions of lower-end Chrysler cars and captive imports from Mitsubishi. The Eagle Vista, Summit, Talon, and 200GTX were mechanically identical to the Mitsubishi cars from which they were based. Only the Eagle Vision shared architecture and mechanicals with an actual Chrysler product, the LH platform which was the basis for the Chrysler Concorde, New Yorker, LHS, 300M, and Dodge Intrepid. The Eagle brand was fully discontinued by Chrysler in 1999. The last Eagle-branded car was the Mitsubishi Eclipse-based Talon. The Talon was Eagle’s top-selling model and still remains a popular in the present day, especially with those in the “tuner” scene and Mitsubishi brand enthusiasts.
