Alternators for Lexus Vehicles

Although Honda is credited with creating Japan’s first luxury automobile marque in 1986, Toyota was planting the seeds of what would later become the Lexus brand 3 years prior.  In 1983, Toyota chairman Eiji Toyoda challenged the automotive world to create the world’s best car.  Backstage, Toyota was already hard at work developing a secret program called F1 (Flagship One), an elite premium sedan inspired by Toyota’s own handbuilt 4-door limousine, the Century.  The launch of Honda’s Acura brand forced Toyota into developing an entire dedicated luxury division.  Inspired by the F1 concept, Toyota introduced the Lexus brand in North America in 1989 with the LS 400 full-size executive sedan and the ES 250 entry-level compact luxury car.  The LS 400 was an all-new design that shared no hard parts with any pre-existing Toyota car models while the ES 250 was a rebadged JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Toyota Vista.  The Lexus LS 400 was a critical and sales success and instantly started poaching away market share from Mercedes-Benz and BMW.  Lexus soon added a 2-door sports coupe, the SC 400, a corporate cousin to the Toyota Supra.  The SC 400 helped usher in a new era within the luxury segment; luxury sport.  Lexus’s rapid growth and expansion allowed them to overtake their Japanese rivals, as well as the established American and European counterparts.  In 1996, the LX 450 SUV was added to the lineup and two years later, the RX 300 crossover debuted.  As a sub-brand of Toyota, Lexus sits at the top 3 of the highest-selling luxury automobile brands.  Lexus now builds a full line of luxury vehicles for various different markets including compact hatchbacks, hybrids, and performance cars.  The F marque, reserved for only the highest-performing models in the Lexus lineup, is aimed to strike at the performance-tuned BMW M Sport, Mercedes-Benz AMG, and Cadillac V-Series.
