Alternators for Porsche Cars

Porsche cars are often the ride of choice for celebrities and wealthy socialites. On the other hand, Porsche cars are also the preferred track day weapon on extreme performance sports car racing circuits across the globe. It’s a bit ironic, considering the company’s beginnings as a mere advisory company rather than the full-fledged manufacturer that they would later become in life. Founded in 1931, Czech engineer Ferdinand Porsche’s Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche GmbH was an automotive development and consulting firm. During World War II, Nazi Fuhrer Adolf Hitler commissioned Porsche to develop the “people’s car”, an inexpensive mass-produced compact commuter car (or “wagen”) that was attainable for the everyday folk (or “volk”). This resulted in the birth of Volkswagen and the original Volkswagen Beetle. Porsche’s company also assembled the Tiger tank and Elefant tank destroyer, which were some of the feared machines of the Wehrmacht Panzer Division. After the fall of the Third Reich and the Axis Powers, Porsche was asked to relocate to France to continue his work as part of war reparations but the French government put a stop to Porsche’s invitation and instead, Ferdinand Porsche, Anton Piech, and Porsche’s son Ferry Porsche were all arrested and tried as Nazi war criminals. Ferry Porsche was released from prison after 6 months and took over operations of Porsche. The company manufactured water pumps, winches, ran an automotive repair shop, and also developed the Type 360 Cisitalia experimental racing car. Porsche’s relationship with Volkswagen eventually led to Porsche developing their own vehicles. Initially, these were recycled Volkswagen designs and then later, they were specific to Porsche. During the mid 1960s, Porsche achieved a fair amount of success in motorsport with such models as the legendary 550 Spyder and Porsche 911. Porsche sports cars soon became desirable import models that were highly sought after by celebrities and professional race car drivers. As Porsche’s motorsports prominence grew, so did their product lineup. From then on, Porsche eventually became a premier marque of automotive performance and engineering excellence with such examples as the Boxster, Cayman, and Carrera.
