Hyundai Alternators

The Hyundai Motor Company is a division of South Korean conglomerate Hyundai Group, whose ventures also include department stores, steel production, and engineering. Hyundai entered the world of automobiles in 1967, partnering with the Ford Motor Company to release their first car, the Cortina in 1968. When Hyundai wanted to design and build their very own original car, they turned to former British Leyland executives Sir George Henry Turnbull and Austin Morris who, in turn, hired five British specialists Kenneth Barnett (body design), John Simpson and Edward Chapman (engineers), John Crosthwaite (chassis), and Peter Slater (chief development engineer). Their finished product was the 1975 Pony, Korea’s first original car. The Pony was soon exported into Ecuador, the Benelux Union, and Canada. In 1986, Hyundai made their American debut with the Excel and later, the midsize Sonata, which was built entirely with Hyundai-only engineering and components. Hyundai made a splash with value-minded consumers who were drawn to the brand’s incredibly (for the time) low MSRP prices on new vehicles. Over time, this allowed Hyundai to stake their claim in the automotive market and in 1998, offered the industry’s first and only 10-year, 100,000 warranty in the United States. Then, as the industry was feeling the crunch of the impending 2008 auto crisis, Hyundai began hiring recently laid-off engineers and designers from some the world’s most respected marques (including BMW, Porsche, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz) and brought them into the organization). Fresh new designs, improved and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, and now increased and industry-leading reliability won the manufacturer multiple J.D. Power and Associates and Consumer Reports awards for quality. The Hyundai Motor Company now sits as the world’s 3rd largest automaker. They operate three brands: the volume-selling Hyundai, entry-level Kia, and the newly-formed luxury executive marque, Genesis; an offshoot from the former Hyundai Genesis sport coupe and midsize executive sedan.
