Alternators for Mercedes-Benz Automobiles

The story of Mercedes-Benz, as well as the invention of the automobile, begins in Germany at the end of the 19th century.  In 1886, inventor Karl Benz created the world’s first gasoline-powered automobile, the Benz Patent-Motorwagen.  Engineers Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach left Nickolaus Otto’s Deutz AG and founded their own engine business in 1890.  Daimler and Maybach formed their own company, Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG).  In 1926, after a lengthy court battle, Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler’s companies ended up merging together to form Daimler-Benz, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz.  Known internationally as one of the world’s top premier luxury automakers, Mercedes-Benz is also well-known and popular manufacturer of heavy duty trucks and commercial vehicles.  They are credited with inventing some of the most important innovations in the automotive world such as the carburetor, the first diesel-powered passenger car, 4-wheel brakes, safety cage construction, traction control, active stability control, and direct fuel injection.  The manufacturer is heavily involved in motorsports such as sports car racing, rally racing, touring, and open wheel.  They are currently active in Formula 3, DTM, Formula 1, IMSA SportsCar, and Pirelli World Challenge sports car racing.  This racing pedigree influenced and continues to influence the entire Mercedes-Benz product lineup, from the vintage 1954 300SL “Gull Wing” to the 1963 600 Grand Mercedes (once, the world’s fastest production car) to today’s modern AMG-tuned luxury sports saloons and coupes.  Mercedes-Benz models include the compact C-Class, midsize E-Class, G-Class SUVs and Crossovers, the premier S-Class full-size luxury touring saloon, SL-Class GT car, and their ultimate flagship supercar, the Mercedes-AMG GT.
