Delco Alternator

Delco Marine Alternator

Delco Electronics was the former electronics manufacturing subsidiary of General Motors before becoming part of GM’s ACDelco brand. Delco, originally called Dayton Engineering Laboratories, Co (DELCo), was founded in Dayton, Ohio in 1909. The company was behind some of the most important technological advancements in automotive history, including the first reliable battery ignition system and the first widespread electric starter motor. After World War I, Delco was acquired by GM as part of their purchase of the United Motors Company. In the 1930s, Delco began producing most of the core electronic components that are still used in GM vehicles, as well as other automotive marques, to this day. Some of Delco’s most popular products include car radios and audio systems, ignition systems, and alternators. Delco marine alternators are built with the same quality as the automotive type, but are fully shielded and reinforced to withstand the salt and moisture of the ocean environment. Discount Starter & Alternator specializes in marine-grade ignition parts for your marine engine.
